My focus this semester is gestural abstraction, using acrylic paint to create texture. My intention with my paintings is to visually represent me as a person. My use of color, layers and mixed in additives to paint encompass what lies beneath my introverted exterior. Although this may be my intent as an artist, I prefer to hear what the viewer feels and experiences as opposed to explaining my intent to the viewer. Reference artists: Sam Gilliam, Gerhard Richter, and Jackson Pollock
